NWOP is committed to providing the highest level of service and care to its customers, employees and the entire community. Safety is at the heart of our commitment, and high-quality training is an essential tool for ensuring everyone’s safety and success.

All NWOP employees are CETP certified. Although, not often a standard practice amongst all propane providers, NWOP even includes our customer service representatives, who are most likely the first contact you will make with our company. We want to ensure that your questions or concerns can be handled quickly, accurately, and efficiently by every NWOP employee.

CETP (pronounced “see-tep”) is the acronym for the Certified Employee Training Program, the premier training program of the propane industry. It was developed, and is administered by, PERC—the Propane Education & Research Council, in partnership with industry experts as part of the industry’s commitment to promote the safe and efficient use of propane gas as a preferred energy resource.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the United States Department of Transportation (DOT), and other agencies of the federal government are a few organizations that play major roles in developing regulations, codes, and standards to ensure the safe transportation, storage, handling, and use of propane. CETP helps train propane industry employees in every aspect of the requirements of code compliance.

CETP begins with a Basic Principles and Practices course. The curriculum provides an overview of key concepts and strategies and aids in preparing the employee for the NPGA’s CETP certification. NWOP’s service technicians and drivers use this course as a prerequisite to the more advanced specialized CETP courses that cover areas such as:

  • Propane delivery

  • Plant operations

  • Distribution system operations

  • Transfer system operations

  • Appliance service

  • Large equipment connection and service

The CETP certification program also provides refresher training to ensure that our employees are knowledgeable about any new technology, equipment or code changes.
